Male-Female Rivet

Male-Female Rivet, also known as double-cap rivet, post-and-cap rivet or two-part mating rivet, is a split-type press-fit fastener composed of male post and female cap. Different from conventional single-body solid rivets, both sides of assembled joint feature finished uniform heads, delivering neat appearance on both visible surfaces. Installation is completed simply by hammer or press tool, no complex rivet gun required. After pressing, the female cap deforms and locks tightly onto male post to realize permanent clamping connection. Widely adopted for leather goods, luggage, footwear, knife handles, nameplates, craft decorations and thin-plate assembly. Multiple head styles, material options and surface finishes are available for decorative and light-medium load fastening requirements.

Two-Piece Matched-Locking Structural Advantages

Male-female rivet consists of independent male post and female cap. Unlike ordinary solid rivets which produce deformed rolled-over tail after riveting, both sides keep pre-manufactured neat heads after assembly, achieving consistent visual effect for double-sided exposed joints. During installation, male post passes through pre-drilled holes of workpieces, female cap covers the protruding post end. External pressing force makes female cap mouth deform and clamp tightly on post outer diameter to complete permanent fastening. No rough deformed tail left. It optimizes both connection performance and surface aesthetics, widely preferred for products requiring good visual quality on both sides.

Installation Guidance & Usage Notes

Drill matching holes through stacked workpieces. Insert male post from one side, put female cap onto protruding post end from opposite side. Apply even pressure via hammer or press tool to make female cap mouth fully crimp and lock onto post. Avoid excessive striking which may crush workpiece or deform rivet head. This is permanent press-fit fastener and cannot be disassembled after full crimping. Not recommended for heavy-load or high-frequency vibration working conditions. Conduct sample pressing test before mass assembly to verify hole-fit and locking effect.
