Failure Avoidance & Common Misuse Analysis

This ASME standard self-tapping screw is dedicated for tapping installation, not applicable for matching with standard nuts and pre-tapped precision holes. Avoid using oversized torque during installation, which may cause thread stripping or countersunk head sinking and substrate cracking. Do not apply to thick solid metal plates without reserved gaps, as it will lead to incomplete tapping and unstable fastening. Ordinary zinc-plated carbon steel screws are not suitable for long-term coastal salt spray environments; 316 stainless steel versions are recommended for outdoor corrosive scenarios. Mismatched screwdriver bits will damage the torx recess, resulting in failure of secondary disassembly and maintenance.
